Welcome
Welcome to the ‘People with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities in the UK’ survey.
Who are we, and what is the survey about?
We are a group of university researchers (from the University of Birmingham, Manchester Metropolitan University, The University of South Wales, The University of Glasgow, and Queens University Belfast) and we have partnered with Learning Disability England, PAMIS, Positive Futures, and The All Wales Forum. We would like to invite you to take part in ‘The Lives of People with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities in the UK’ survey. The survey is specifically about the lives of people with profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD) across the UK. We want to know more about the lifestyle of people with PMLD, and how we can better support them going forward in the future. This research is funded by the Baily Thomas Charity.
How many families are we looking for?
The study aims to recruit around 350 family carers of people with profound and multiple learning disabilities who will complete an online survey. We know that people with PMLD will not be able to talk to researchers and we would like to thank family cares for taking part on behalf of the person with a learning disability that they care for.
Everyone who completes the survey will be offered a chance to be included in a prize draw, and ten winners will each receive a £50 gift voucher. The draw will be held when the survey is finished.
We are extremely grateful to be working with our partners in Learning Disability England, PAMIS, Positive Futures, and The All Wales Forum.
